Biography
The Armenian soprano Anna Ryan studied at the state conservatoire of Yerevan, Armenia and the conservatoire of Vienna, Austria. She was a finalist in the "Città di Alcamo" International Singing Competition (Italy).
In 2004 she sang Aida in Buenos Aires and again in 2006 in Germany. 2007 she sang Abigaille in Verdi’s “Nabucco” at the Open Air Festival in St. Margarethen.
Ms. Ryan’s repertoire encompasses a broad selection of concert music and numerous Opera roles, such as Tosca, Aida, Lisa (Pique Dame), Leonora (Il Trovatore), Mimi (La Boheme), Leonore (Fidelio), Abigaille (Nabucco), Fleana (Gli Zingari) and more.
Opera galas and concert appearances with symphonies by Mahler and Beethoven, Requiem by Verdi, Brahms, Dvorak and more, as well as songs by Richard Strauss, led her to Japan, Egypt, Spain, Italy, Germany, Latvia, the Czech Republic, the Slovak Republic Republic and back to Austria, where she performed well-known masterpieces at the Wiener Konzerthaus and the Wiener Musikverein.
In 2010 | 11 she appeared on stage in Germany and Sweden as Marschallin (Der Rosenkavalier). She then continued to perform in Bratislava as Aida, Tosca, Turandot and Abigaille until 2013.
In the season 2015 | 16 she sang "Mahler's Rückert Lieder" in the Czech Republic with the North Czech Philharmonic Teplice under the direction of Maestro Claudio Cohen.
In addition to her work on the opera stage, Ms. Ryan gives numerous concerts in Vienna. Anna Ryan has been the soloist and artistic director of the Royal Orchestra Vienna since 2010.
